I’m Maira.

I work for the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) as a Global Policy Analyst, fighting laws, agreements, and other global initiatives that hurt and prevent creativity and innovation under the false pretenses of promoting them. It’s my job to rally people into thinking about these policies, by explaining how it impacts their digital lives and figure out/show people what can be done about it.

I’m also an in-the-closet artist. Creative writing, drawing, and painting are things I love but don’t make enough time to do. Hopefully that’ll change. What I do end up creating will end up here on this blog. Other ways I spend my time is rock climbing, taking hip hop dance classes, dipping things in mayonnaise, and reading whatever I can get my hands on.
